Practial information

During the exhibition there will be an extensive shopping street. The team of “De Utrecht” is also busy with extra-curricular activities, where we will keep you informed. We hope you and your dog (s) to welcome in April 2016 in the BeursFabriek Symfonielaan 5 in Nieuwegein

The hall is open from 7:30 am and judging starts at 09:30.

Junior Handling

For the Junior Handling can be registered on the show days to 12.00 by handlers from 10/17 years.

Due to a change in the Junior Handlings rules now it is not possible for handlers under 10 to be admitted to the competition. The new regulations can be found under the link. For more information about the Junior Handling please contact the Dutch Kennel Club by mail.

Campers and caravans

It is not allowd by the municipality of Nieuwegein to stay during the night in a caravan or camper parked at the public parking at the show area, unless prior exemption is requested. To get permission you have to send a request by <a href=”mailto:secretariaat@de-utrecht.nl”>mail</a> before the 24th of march 2016. You must provide the registration number of the caravan or motorhome and the number of people who stay overnight in your caravan or camper. We expressly point out that there are no facilities, also no electricity, available and that no waste and wastewater can be discharged.

We recommend you to use a campsite in the area. We suggest one of the below mentioned

THE ENTRY IS OPEN ON 1 SEPTEMBER.

From September 1, 2017, it is possible to enroll for our International Dog Show. Also this year all rings will be carpeted.
The Utrechtse Rashonden Association has already been in existence in 2018 and the foundation “De Utrecht” since 1947. Since it’s a special year we will do everything we can to make a nice show again.

GENERAL.

Biennial international dog exhibition award CAC and CACIB ON April 14th and 15th 2018.

Location : Beursfabriek, Symphonielaan 5, 3438 EW in Nieuwegein.

The location has a ground floor and a first floor. Commercial stands are placed on the ground floor, idealistic stands are placed on the floor. If you want to place a sales vehicle, please bear in mind that the maximum drive-through height is only 3 meters .

FLYERING.

Handing out flyers and / or gadgets outside the stand space is not permitted without consultation with the organization and is in principle reserved for the sponsor only.

Staying overnight at the site.

ELECTRICITY.

If electricity is required in the stand you must arrange this with the organisation designated by the location itself. Payment is also arranged directly between you and the supplier.

MINIMUM BOOKING.

Minimum booking 2×1 square meters. The fire department does not allow exhibitors to place goods outside the marked boxes.

ADVERTISING.

When booking stand space it is possible to place a banner with link in one of the ad boxes on the website www.de-utrecht.nl at no cost. The banner will remain published on the site until the next show in April 2020. For exhibitors there is possibility to advertise in the catalog. This costs € 100.00 for a full page and € 60.00 for a half page

COSTS.

The rent per square meter is € 80.00 and is fixed regardless of the number of square meters. This price includes the use of the toilets, the crew and the advertising opportunity on the website of De Utrecht

History

History.

1947 – 1969.

THE FIRST SHOW WAS IN 1947 AND WAS ORGANISED IN A COOPERATION BETWEEN TRHEE KYNOLOGICAL ASSOCIATIONS

The  three kynological associations where: Utrecht, Zeist and het Gooi, combined known as UZG. Immediately it was a considerable show, opened by the mayor. No less than 1411 dogs had been registered en such a number for an ordinary international exhibition had not yet been reached in the Netherlands.

A short overview of the first years:

  • 1955 there were 840 registrations for a one-day show
  • 1958 there were 1001 registrations
  • 1963 there were 2000 registrations, but 740 had to be rejected because of lack of space. Nonetheless 12.000 visitors
  • 1964 there were 1134 registrations
  • 1967 there were 1250 registrations
  • 1968 there were 1348 registrations

1970 – 1978.

DE UTRECHT

In 1970 the contract with Zeist was dissolved, het Gooi allready had dropped out earlier. From that moment on only the URV took care of the organisation and the exhibition was simply called “De Utrecht”. The year 1969 was skipped. In 1970, the URV effectively took on the organisation and was decided to have a show that year. The show of 1972 had record of visitors because of an interview on television about the show with NCRV’s Tanja Koen, it brought in a visitors number of 13.

1979 – 1995.

STICHTING DE UTRECHT

In 1979 the foundation De Utrecht was set up in which the exhibition activities were accommodated. Because of this the association and foundation become financially independant of one another and pressure on the members of the association is decreased.
Since 1982 the URV/Foundation has organised an exhibition every two years. Only once it was a one-day show, the rest have all been two-day events.

1996 – 2011.

VEEMARKTHALEN

Untill 1994 the show took place in the Jaarbeurs. In 1996 the show was moved to the Veemarkthallen. These halls will be demolished in 2011 and we now are diligently in search of a good replacement. The 2010 exhibiton was a great success and ,although taking leave of the Veemarkthallen was tough, the new venue the home Boxx in nieuwegein opens up new possibilities.

2012 – Heden.

BEURSFABRIEK

Since 2012 we have a new location, the Home Boxx in Nieuwegein. Since 2015, the Home Boxx changed his name and they are called nowadays BeursFabriek. 2012 was very exciting for us, after years in the Veemarkthallen we have moved to a location with two floors. We are full at work to make 2016 just as a great succes as in 2014.
